Supporting a local college with graphical board

2nd November 2017

We've been helping a local college out with material for their GCSE Art and Resistant Materials coursework for a few years now and when they contacted us recently to ask if we could continue to support them, we were only too happy to offer some graphical board. With tight constraints on local authority budgets these days and the juggling act head teachers have to perform-Craig Curtis, Hamilton College's Assistant Head of Faculty and Teacher of Design Technology has always been greatly appreciative of the support we can offer.

The 200 students in the year group are aged between 14 and 16 and they produce a range of designs such as toys, food items and electrical products; including phone docking stations based on a design movement from the last 100 years. The board is also used by students to develop and model their ideas in Resistant Materials, often using a laser cutter to make prototype components.

Martin Higgins, Warren Operations Manager commented. “We had some old stock that was perfect for the needs of the college and we were happy to help. They are always very appreciate of any support we can give and judging by the photographs they have sent, the students have produced some very impressive designs.”

Their finished designs are show-cased in school displays and on the college twitter feed. If you would like to see more examples of their work visit - https://twitter.com/HamiltonColleg1
