Tracey Campbell gets in training for a Tough Mudder Challenge

4th May 2017

When our Credit Manager, Tracey missed out on taking part in the Leicester half marathon last year she was disappointed her training had gone to waste and that she wouldn't be able to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society in memory of a dear auntie and uncle who had both suffered from the condition. When a family member suggested she should take part in the Midlands Tough Mudder Challenge she keenly signed up to join a team set up by her partner's brother-in-law.

Tracey has been running long distances in preparation and she’s now included some upper body exercises to improve her strength for the 20 obstacle, 12 mile course which promises lung-busting hills, woodland, water and tons and tons of mud!

Tracey commented, “I agreed to take part before I really knew what it was all about and as the event draws near it’s dawning on me  how challenging it’s going to be - both physically and mentally. I feel I have a reasonable level of fitness with the running, dancing and Zumba I do but I’m not looking forward to the monkey bars or being underwater.  I hope raising money for this good cause will spur me on. Our team consists of David Roberts, Chris Wesley, Pete Barrs and myself.”

The Midlands Tough Mudda takes place on Sunday May 21st in the grounds of Belvoir Castle, Grantham, Leicester, shire, with Tracey’s start time yet to be confirmed.

We all wish her the best of luck for Muddering Sunday!
